With the development of social platforms, young people seem to have entered the era of EMO, and social media is an amplifier that carries and amplifies their emotions. EMO is the abbreviation of the word emotional, which means depression and sentimentality. Some people say that when you were emo, you feel like a flimsy container filled with biting ice water and you can't breathe. The consequence of the ever-compressing text carrier is that our expression of emotions is becoming more and more lacking and consistent, and we can no longer describe the specific emotions that haunt us in our hearts. When we really fall into daily worries, no matter how many thoughts are gathering and colliding in our hearts, in the end, there is only a short sentence "I emo".  The new generation dealing with noises, limitations and the unsure world, can figure a way out to heal themselves.

Hengyu Chen is an undergraduate in University of Victoria. Her career goal is to become an expressionist in the future. Hengyu picked it up when she came to Canada for studies, and she continues to study in the art field until now.
